Hooters (and a Bit of Rambling)....

Ever had one of those days where you were just.so.happy to put it behind you? Well, I had an entire week just like that. Last week. Scattered. Frantic. Unorganized. Unmotivated. Tired.

The week started with drama, ended with drama, and had a bunch of drama just intertwined all throughout.

So, so, SO happy to be in a new week!

I walked yesterday, two miles, (go, me!) on the same track that was recently occupied by {{shudder}} that snake. It was okay, though. It was in the middle of the day and I felt brave in the sunlight. I'm glad I went because the track has been totally redeemed by the hooters. Yes! Hooters! I've heard them there before, early in the morning when the light was still low and everything was quiet. And I instantly thought of Owl Moon by Jane Yolen and our FIAR studies, dissecting owl pellets and all that. But yesterday....wow! The owls (yes, more than one! Two, maybe three...) were conversing--or mating or something, I'm just not sure.

I was walking while Daddy played with the boys on the playground. We had talked about the owls so, when I heard them, hooting it up, my first thought was that he was playing a trick on me. He has that kind of a sense of humor. It would be just like him to go down into the woods and hoot like an owl...

I was smirking to myself as I walked, thinking of how ridiculous my husband is, to go to all that trouble just to psyche me out. The "owls" (har har) were almost growling. I've never heard birds make those types of noises. And then I rounded the corner and there was Daddy and the boys. And then I felt like he DID play a trick on me by not doing anything at all. *sigh*

It was pretty crazy.

So now the track doesn't seem so scary (sorta). Except for that spot of blood under the lamp post...

I've spent this afternoon doing laundry because, silly me, took a break from it yesterday. When you have five kids, you should never, EVER take a laundry break. It.just.isn't.worth.it. And it doesn't help that my washer leaks enough to soak a couple of bath towels, oh...about every 3 loads. Someday...I will have a new washer. Oh, please! I hope.

So, you probably noticed that I didn't post any Daily Blog Reviews last week. I was just so busy! Blogging takes time and sometimes life just gets in the way. You know, life happens. You know, life must happen in order to have interesting blog content. I'm learning that it can be tough to balance it all.

Family must come first.

On top of all the basic blogging, and family, and life, I'm tackling a couple of writing projects and I'm trying to find a new 4 column blog template so I can do a makeover. Do you have any idea how hard this is??? Your blog design is an extension of you. It HAS to be perfect!

The Daily Blog Review will be back on track tomorrow, and hopefully I'll have a better handle on balance this week. I'll be posting about a bunch of blog awards sometime this week (Yes! I've received a whole bunch of new awards, ya'll!) and passing them along to some very deserving blogging buddies.

I'll still have the writing projects this week, but it's fall break (Already?!?!?!) so I don't have to worry about the school buses and the crazy Dawg taking his early morning run. You know what? I'm ready for it. I'm hoping to even tackle a DIY project this week. We'll see....

Come on Monday....Bring it on! (And small town drama? I do NOT want to see you this week!)

Have a great week!
