Let's talk furniture repurposing. This is something I really love to do. I love to take something old (well made or not) and take it apart and make something new from the pieces. Sometimes I just change out knobs and add a little paint. Or spray paint. Man, I LOVE SPRAY PAINT!! Ahem....
A good friend of mine picked this piece up for a few bucks at a yard sale and then passed it on to me. We both have the same question....
What the heck is it??
Some type of vanity??
Are those wings?
I'm hoping some of you remodeling moms can shed some light on this mystery.
I've stripped that sticky pink contact paper from the top and plan to paint the whole thing white and use it as a desk in my kitchen area.
My baby will be five years old next week. Five.Years.Old. He is such a blessing and so much fun. I can't wait to celebrate his birthday.
He loves birthday cake--I think it is one of his very favorite things to eat. Not to mention the Birthday Song. He sings it long and loud. And he doesn't care if he's the only person singing. It makes me smile and feel all teary-eyed at the same time.
More about that next week.....
We're getting our Christmas tree next week!
We usually have it set up for St Nick's Day (December 6th) so we are running late this year. (See my comments on how quickly this week has passed.) My little one's birthday is also December 6th. It's a big deal....
Speaking of Christmas.... I have not EVEN started Christmas shopping. I have got to get moving or I'm gonna miss it!
Every Christmas we make a toy donation to our local children's hospital, LeBonheur Children's Hospital. Our oldest son was a patient there during the holidays of 1992. He received so many gifts! The following Christmas, we bought Christmas gifts for him, just like he was still with us, and then donated the lot to LeBonheur.
We continue to buy gifts for him each Christmas to remember him and to donate to the hospital. Each year the gifts correspond to the age he would be if he was still living.
Since he would no longer be a child (!!Don't EVEN get me started!!), we will find items for boys of all ages and continue giving in his memory.
Well, that's enough rambling for this Friday.
Oh, and if you can shed some light on my mystery table.....please do!
