I know that many heart moms will balk at any mention of supporting AHA/Jump Rope for Heart due to the minuscule amount of funding the American Heart Association actually delegates to Congenital Heart Disease. After all, AHA covers a very wide range of heart disease and stroke conditions and acquired heart disease is a problem in our country.
However, the awareness that comes along with Jump Rope for Heart has to be worth something, right?
If my son comes home excited about the opportunity to jump rope, learn about his heart, and raise money for kids with broken hearts like his little brother's, I think it's well worth my efforts to support his efforts--and to support AHA in the process. So worth it...
If you look at the photo in this post and at the very top of my right sidebar, you'll see my two youngest boys, the jumper and the honoree. Notice how he lovingly made a heart with his hands for the photo?
So sweet! And completely uncoached...
If you so desire, you can click that photo (or the one in this post) to make a donation on Cade's AHA/Jump Rope for Heart webpage. If you can't do that, he would really appreciate your prayers as he jumps. (He's not the most coordinated!) And I'd appreciate your prayers that his efforts will be blessed and that others will learn just how huge Congenital Heart Disease really is.
It's a very big deal.
