Today is World Autism Awareness Day and I think that is just wonderful. The numbers of families affected by Autism warrant a worldwide awareness day. If you are one of the many, I salute you.
Living with Autism is exciting, frustrating, sweet, heartbreaking, exhilarating, nerve wracking, anxiety producing, scary, sad, joyous, miraculous, crazy, and well.....
...just about any emotion you can imagine. Plus. Always.
It's a roller coaster.
It's a ride you never expected, never wanted, would never stand in line for...
...once you get strapped in and settled down...
...you forget what it was that caused your apprehension in the first place.
...It is what it is.
Sometimes it makes you want to pull your hair out.
And other times it makes your heart swell and spill over.
I'm thrilled that the world is thinking about Autism today and that so many buildings and homes are lit up in blue.
Really. I am!
But, every day in our house is Autism Awareness Day.
We spent the day doing something totally and completely 'normal', for lack of a better word.
